Hailing from New Orleans, Halle Wood has been immersed in the world of music from an early age. Her career began as a jazz vocalist, performing at some of the most historic jazz venues in the world. This early experience deeply influenced her musical stylings, drawing inspiration from the great jazz vocalists of the 40s and 50s. Known for her skillful scatting over jazz standards, Halle developed a remarkable ability to bring both ease and agility to her performances.

Continuing to pursue her passion for music, Halle studied at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music, focusing on music business with an emphasis on entrepreneurial work. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she returned to her hometown of New Orleans, where she had the opportunity to work at the New Orleans Jazz Market under the guidance of Grammy Award-winning drummer Adonis Rose. While in New Orleans, Halle also earned her graduate degree in jazz performance from Loyola University.

Currently based in Raleigh, NC, Halle teaches elementary music, bringing her love for jazz to young students. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys participating in local jazz jam sessions around the city. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to music and a genuine joy in sharing it with others.
